Or why you shouldn't trust me with my own website...

If you didn't know, I like to lurk on Club Iris. There's nothing like sitting down with a nice can of soda and some food and engaging in a healthy habit of peoplewatching; there are plenty of interesting folks on a place like that, and all of them are there for you to see and throw rocks at like some sort of peanut gallery. You see a lot of people when you do this, though. I use an openly female avatar when I join these places, and that opens me up to a lot of harrassment. From trolls to people looking to hook up with me, I'm constantly accosted by a barrage of random men I'm not familiar with. If you didn't know, this literally only happens to women. Men hanging around aren't trolled very often- not unless the person doing it is desperate or on an alternative account- but men will openly harrass women on their own main accounts just because they seem to be easy targets. It reeks of this subtle, permeating misogyny that makes me turn my nose up every time I see it. How can someone be so crude without feeling embarrassed? I'll regularly get men trying to ask me how old I am and then for my Snapchat (I don't have one) or Discord account, and every time, I'll turn them down. My least favourite phenomenon is when they get pushy about it. I've had men call me petnames like 'shortie,' 'shawty,' and 'cutie' without my consent. I've had men insist that I was their friend and that we knew eachother. I've had men even insist we were already dating to other strangers despite me only knowing them in passing. It's this annoying thing that I can't get over, and I'm sick of putting up with it. More often than not, I just block them, but it's still really annoying to have to put up with all the time.

Send me back!
